LAKE MOVEMENT WESTBURY NIGHT ORGANIZED

My quilt

"GAUDY NIGHT AT LAKE WESTBURY"

finally came to be after much much thought and many changes of mind. My words gave me a little trouble. Westbury is a town in NY, but I have made it into a lake where the stars chose to dance their somewhat organized dance of joy. I've wanted to make a quilt to celebrate surviving metastatic breast cancer and the joy I feel in life and friends, and I think that will be it.

Sometimes I just feel like dancing, a rhythm in my soul, so I picture the stars being ORGANIZED by a leader to come down at night when no one is around and dance on the sparkling LAKE WESTBURY , their MOVEMENTS at NIGHT an explosion of grace and beauty. The sparkling threads in each star are an expression of the light I feel from the angel friends on our list.

It's a very sparkly and gaudy quilt with many, many silver stars in the background ( the fabric which I fell in love with at a quilt show). Anyway, for better or worse, this little quilt expresses me: full of color, mischief, and love of dancing and my friends.
